Here is a Compilation of Videos for Tunes from the CD “Cinematic Sea” by Another Story

During these dark days of the coronavirus here is a compilation of our videos for tunes from our “Cinematic Sea” CD that might be somewhat soothing

You Tube Video of Floating on a Wave

We have a you tube video of the track ‘Floating On A Wave’ from the all-instrumental oceanic-themed CD “Cinematic Sea”. The video was created by Henry Jackson and he also composed the tune, which is somewhat redolent of the surf sounds of The Ventures and Dick Dale.

An audio mp3 of this tune ‘Floating On A Wave’ can be purchased as a download from iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/cinematic-sea/1278842925

You Tube video of Pacific Reverie

We have a you tube video of the track ‘Pacific Reverie’ from the all-instrumental oceanic-themed CD “Cinematic Sea”. The video was created by Henry Jackson and he also composed the tune, which is laid back and conjures up the sounds associated with the various Pacific Islander groups. Another Story Playlist: Marching Through Time to a Different Beat

All these tunes are written in odd time signatures. There are not too many popular tunes written in 5/4 time, e.g., Dave Brubeck’s Take Five, Living in the Past by Jethro Tull and the Mission Impossible theme by Lalo Schifrin. Count Me Out and Alive and Brilliant are also in 5/4 time. Golden Brown is in a fast ¾ waltz time but in the riff section every fourth bar is in 4/4 time. The Frank Zappa tune is in 7/4 time as is Money with the exception of the guitar solo which occurs in a 4/4 time.

You Tube Video of Count Me Out from Cinematic Sea by Another Story

Steve has just created a video for the tune ‘Count Me Out’ from Cinematic Sea.

An audio mp3 of this tune ‘Count Me Out’ can be purchased as a download from itunes at https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/cinematic-sea/1278842925

Count Me Out is a jazzy, quirky instrumental tune written in 5/4 time that was a failed entry into a short film music competition. There are not too many popular tunes written in 5/4, e.g., Dave Brubeck’s Take Five, Living in the Past by Jethro Tull and the original Mission Impossible theme by Lalo Schifrin. There are many interesting and different shifts in the tune – backwards guitar, musique concrete and then at the very end a swinging 1960s London Hammond groove a la Austin Powers meets Georgie Fame.

Another Story has a Playlist On You Tube: A Cinematic Experience Across Land, Sea and the Time-Space Continuum

This series of seven mostly instrumental music videos might be best described as filmic or cinematic. They absorb the listener-viewer’s attention as the sounds and film move with elapsed time over land, sea and space. Some tunes have an ambient feel, some have a pronounced chill factor, others a prog-rock feel, and most, but not all, move at a slow and stately pace.

Coral See Video

We now have a You Tube video of the track ‘Coral See’ from the all-instrumental oceanic-themed CD “Cinematic Sea”. The video was created by Steve Malkin and he also composed the tune, which is somewhat epic in tone and features synthesiser and soaring guitar somewhat reminiscent of Jeff Beck and Dave Gilmour. An audio mp3 of this tune ‘Coral See’ can be purchased as a download from itunes at https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/cinematic-sea/1278842925
